What business can I start with my grandchild?

By: Jamie Waggoner

I’m glad you asked, a great job that can be started with your grandchild could be a tax preparation business.

It is perfect because while spending time with your grandchild, you are also creating a family business together.

Many trusted tax businesses are family-based, even our company Pronto Income Tax is a family business.

Pros to starting a tax business with your grandchild

  • If you pass away your clients won’t be having a panic attack trying to figure out who to trust their taxes with, and trust me they will panic, happens all the time!  When you have your grandchild there to take over, the feeling of client panic is not as severe.
  • You will have someone to pass it on to in a business sense not just for clients, but for the sake of knowing you’ll have a legacy to pass on.
  • If your grandchild ends up having a hard time finding a job after high school or college because of the economy, you’ll be there to give them a job! Of course you would have them get certified before they could work for you but that's super-easy when you become a tax preparer through Pronto Tax School (prontotaxschool.com)
  • Cons to starting a tax business with your grandchild

  • Family dynamics always plays a part in business, sometimes it doesn’t quite work. There can be disagreements in how to run things or never seeing eye to eye. If you are a family that doesn’t “play well” with others then it might not be a great plan, but if you are great with each other then it can be a really enriching experience.

As you can see there are most likely going to be more pros than cons having a family tax business, but still it's something that everyone must decide for

    themselves.

If this idea interests you in anyway or need you or your grandchild certified, head on over to prontotaxschool.com to pick the perfect course package for you.

We have helped many people start their own tax preparation businesses, including a large percentage of family-owned companies, and you might be next.
