One might consider being a tax preparer assistant because they may not be fully ready to take on the tax preparing world.

 

Some students that have taken the courses and became certified may think they would do better watching a tax preparer professional.

 

 

What you can gain by being a tax preparer assistant

Gaining knowledge from the professional could even be a sign whether the recently certified student wants to continue the tax preparer career route.

 

They can also learn the ins and outs of being a tax preparer while still having a job after being certified.

    The salary of a tax preparer assistant ranges from a normal minimum wage depending on where you are living to $15 an hour.

     

    An idea to maximize pay would be to set up a base pay.

     

    Ask your boss if there are any specific goals they want to get done/ accomplish and when you get them done you get paid for that particular task, adding extra money to your check.
