What Should I Say in a Tax Preparer Interview?
By: Jamie Waggoner
How much does experience matter?
Experience is going to be the main part of any interview when applying for a job of any kind.
Employers like to know what you have to bring to the table and how much experience you already have at doing specific jobs.
Having experience separates you from the large pile of people that already are try to get the same job you are trying to get.
Even if you don’t have experience to mention, you may have some training that you have done in the past, which is an experience in itself, so bring it up!
Should I know about the company before an interview?
YES! Knowing some facts about the company such as what they stand for, care about, or run their company is great to know and mention that you know when coming in for your interview.
Letting them know you care about their company and have an understanding about them will show them you are part or can be part of their team.
Willing to know their clients and how they deal with them is also worth mentioning so they will know that you will be a good fit.
You want the company to believe in you and be able to relate to you in some way.
What will show a company I am worth hiring?
Tell them what you can bring to the table!
Show them you are willing to not just take the business that comes in, but willing to work to generate business.
You are willing to promote business, bring in new clients, enhance relationships with current clients, and can call people.
Calling people is part of the promotion and new clients, when calling you are seeking more business for the company.
More business makes a company happy and that meaning you are worth hiring!
