The Company Behind Pronto Tax Class

Pronto Income Tax was founded in 1965 by an attorney/businessman, Wayne Freiburghouse, who noticed a need for reliable, affordable, bilingual and convenient tax preparation in the Los Angeles.

Wayne also noticed that tax clients had trouble pronouncing his last name, so he adopted the business name "Frye" and began placing tax offices around Los Angeles County.

Pronto Income Tax of California, Inc. currently maintains four office locations in the Los Angeles area: Monrovia, East Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, and Carson. You can visit our official company website if you would like to find one of our offices and then come say hello.

Hablamos Español y English: L.A. is a Bilingual City

Way before it was "the thing to do," Pronto Income Tax enthusiastically embraced the Latino-influenced community of Los Angeles by offering services in both English and Spanish in all locations and going under the name "Pronto," which means "fast" or "right now" in Spanish.

Pronto's emphasis on speed and efficiency while doing taxes has enabled us to give more affordable prices to our clients for 47+ years. The idea was to create a tax office where you didn't need an appointment and you could walk in and get your taxes done on the spot, "Pronto."

Conducting business in both English and Spanish since 1965 has since created a strong foundation in the local communities Pronto serves here in Los Angeles.

A Third-Generation Family Business

In 1972, leadership of Pronto was taken over by Wayne's sons Kent and Mark, who continued the Pronto traditions of fast, personal and friendly service to the local bilingual community.

The second generation of Pronto Income Tax built on the original mission of providing persistently low prices with top notch tax preparation services relative to their competition. The current partners at Pronto Income Tax of California, Inc. are Wayne's eldest son, Kent, and Kent's sons Andy and brother Tim.

As of 2012, we estimate that we have prepared approximately 400,000 tax returns in our company's history. We remain dedicated to providing professional, affordable income tax help in an extremely efficient style that can only be called "Pronto."

We hope and plan to hire new employees of Pronto Income Tax of California, Inc. from among our Pronto Tax Class students. Furthermore, our best Pronto Tax Class students will be the first people we approach as we expand and open new tax offices through our business franchise opportunities.
